FAQS

How does Garbage Gorilla work?

Garbage Gorilla compacts the materials inside your roll-off, open-top dumpsters. Each crush takes roughly 10 minutes, is FUN to watch, and improves your dumpster’s efficiency by maximizing the allowable weight and usable capacity inside each container. This ultimately reduces your total number of hauls and dumpster rentals and puts money back into your bottom line, your pocket, or your nearest slot machine, whichever you prefer.

How can Garbage Gorilla benefit us?

  • You save on waste removal costs by reducing your total number of hauls and dumpster rentals.

  • You maximize the usable space and allowable weight inside of each dumpster.

  • Your employees will avoid double-handling trash or compacting it with ill-equipped warehouse equipment to make room inside the dumpster.

  • You create more usable space when your service provider is unavailable for pickup or if your trash is too high and your provider cannot haul it as a result.

  • You get to hang with our Gorilla AND do business with us, and we think we’re pretty cool.

How will Garbage Gorilla save us money?

You will be utilizing significantly less expensive Gorilla crushes to maximize your usable space inside each dumpster to reduce your total number of dumpster rentals and hauling fees.

Are there any upfront costs?

No. You only pay when we crush your dumpster, and the first one is on us, so how do you lose?!?

Do I have to commit to a long-term compaction schedule?

Afraid of commitment, huh?!? No problem. You can use us just in time. However, we offer volume discounts and net 30-day terms for those interested in annual commitments.

What type of dumpsters does Garbage Gorilla crush?

Any 20 to 40 yard, open-top dumpsters

What materials can Garbage Gorilla crush?

Our rule of thumb is, “If it’s garbage, we can crush it.”

  • Our Gorilla can crush anything allowed inside of 20 to 40-yard open-top dumpsters. Our specialties include non-hazardous materials like wood products, paper and paper products, corrugated packaging and materials, flexible packaging, food waste, and large bulky garbage.

  • Our Gorilla can also crush recycling dumpsters with items like light metal, mixed waste, and other recyclable materials.

What can’t Garbage Gorilla crush?

First and foremost, any explosive, hazardous, and biohazardous waste or materials is strictly off-limits. *(I presume that goes without saying, but there. We said it anyway.) Also, any items designed to be resistant to intense pressure or physically bounce back in response to stress or excessive amounts of thin yet heavy material could cause the dumpster to exceed legal and operational weight limits.

Items such as but not limited to: Rocks and rock-like materials, heavy metals, fiberglass, rolls of carpet, tires, mattresses, roofing material, cement board, tile, aggregate, trees, sod, and landscaping materials.

Is our Gorilla safe for your dumpster?

Yes. First of all, it’s a dumpster. *(Rim shot)* That said, our 3 ton, toothed compactor drum uses gravity to press straight down and lower the height of your waste by reducing voids between the refuse. Additionally, our compactor is narrower than the dumpster’s width to avoid impacting the sides. Further, the refuse’s compacting resistance is less than the dumpster’s bowing resistance (which also weighs several tons itself), so the dumpster walls will not bow out during compaction. *(Science stuff)* However, in the improbable event we directly cause damage, we will work with your provider to make it right.

Will our tonnage fees increase since our dumpsters will now be heavier?

Not necessarily. The average weight of a “full” dumpster is roughly 50% of its allowable weight, so compaction will help you maximize the permissible weight inside of each dumpster you rent. In the rare instance you are overweight, the national average for overweight fees typically ranges from $45 to $85 per ton. Hence, the cost is minimal, and our fee structure creates savings for you, even if your dumpster is overweight. Suppose you have tonnage fees built into your waste management contract. In that case, you will save twofold: your tonnage per haul dramatically increases, as well as the savings realized from the reduction of your total number of hauls. Don’t believe us?!? Fine. We offer a 90 day no-obligation trial period to see for yourself.

Does Garbage Gorilla rent dumpsters or haul trash?

No. Garbage Gorilla is simply a mobile trash compacting service designed to save you money and make your life AWESOME!
